A new method for science of modern man
Abstract
This study makes an analysis of Vico’s De nostri temporis studiorum ratione (1709) where Vico opposes the new method of inventio and topica stemmed from the recognition of secondary truths (verisimilia) typical of sciences that meet the need of practical activity in line with the admirable teachings of his auttore Bacon, though expurgated from the faith in the utopian and abstract perfection of human knowledge. Alongside medicine and morality, the iurisprudentia is able to express the new criterion of truth which amounts to putting in the common sense in opposition with abstract rationality.
