Abstract

Taking into account the problematic of national identity in a discursive perspective (PÊCHEUX, 1990; ORLANDI, 1999), this paper aims to reflect upon two essay collections: Nenhum Brasil existe (João Cezar Rocha) and Morte e progresso: cultura brasileira como apagamento de rastros (Francisco Foot Hardman), establishing connections between the archive memory and the interdiscourse. In this case, I examined the relationship between linguistic and discoursive materiality in the domain of formulation (title and introduction) considering the implications concerned with anthologies in representations of Brazil.
