Reading of literature in the school: the importance of teaching the literary work’s aesthetic and formal aspects in reader formation
Abstract
Taking into consideration the theme of readers´ community (Chartier, 1999), readers´ school community (Dionísio, 2000) and literary literacy (Zappone, 2008), current analysis forwards an investigation on the importance of dealing with the aesthetic stance in literary text readings within the school. Notions given by Antonio Candido (2013), João Adolfo Hansen (2005) and others on the reading of the literary text are considered. It may be enhanced that the teaching of aesthetic and formal aspects of a literary work in the classroom is highly relevant for readers´ formation, specifically in the school where the formation of the reader who practices cultured practices in reading as underlined in official documents is expected.
