ELABORATION OF DIDACTIC MATERIAL FOR COMPREHENSION OF FEMALE GENITAL ANATOMY AND PARTICULARITIES IN THEIR HYGIENIZATION

Abstract

The relationship of external organs located in the female perineum, such as the external ostium of the urethra and the anus, associated with ineffective practices of intimate hygiene, predisposes urinary tract infections (UTIs) and vulvovaginitis in women, reaching, each year, more than 150 million. Knowledge as a form of prevention of these pathologies, as well as the awareness of the female population, is an important tool of public health. The objective of this work was to elaborate a didactic material in the form of an educational poster, focused at children and adolescents, in order to clarify and raise awareness of the correct hygiene of the external organs of the urinary, female genital and digestive systems, associated to the prevention of possible pathologies related to the incorrect habit of intimate hygiene. The poster was structured based on previous research on the theme, elaboration of original illustrations and choice of didactic orientations aimed at the target audience, prioritizing a visually flashy material with direct and explanatory information. During the preparation of the material and a bibliographical survey, the female public was unaware of the anatomy and physiology of their body, so it is believed that knowledge as a form of promotion to women's health is an important tool in public health , and that it should be more affordable. Awareness of the female population about urinary tract infections or vulvovaginitis is the best way to prevent it. Once the material has been prepared, the future proposal to disseminate it to the target public appears.
