Abstract
This article deals with the formation of new centers in Fortaleza and its relation to the shopping malls. Introducing a theoretical reflection on topics such as centrality, consumption and urban space, is discussed the influence of the establishment of shopping malls in the direction of the urban space in Fortaleza. It is also the consumption-leisure relationship, and how these new businesses have changed the dynamics of production of sociability spaces, promoting competition with classic leisure spaces, as the traditional center.Downloads
