Abstract
A descriptive qualitative study with a focus on the discourse of families on the subject of life needs. The study aims to examine the responsibilities attributed to families by the Family Health Program (FHP) on the needs related to health and disease. Participated in a forma of in open interviews, 40 family members from Cuiabá-MT. Based on Gramsci, discourses are articulated to the logic prevailing in the health / primary care and the experiences and interpretations of the social groups. References to survival needs and social protection linked to health and contradictions regarding the responsibilities of the FHP were found. This study highlights the need for a strategy to consider its role in ethical and strategic intersectorial work, in recognition of the social, health and family participation in the production of policy-oriented health promotion. For a comprehensive health care, the health team needs to recognize and interpret the ways of thinking of the population, using them as substrate for thinking and rebuild their practices.Downloads
