Epistemological models for studies of the research process
Abstract
This paper has the aim of to analyze two epistemological models used to support research aiming at analyses critical – epistemological in nature. The analyzed models were the following ones: Quadripolar Model of Methodological Practices proposed by Bruyne et al (1977), and the Model of the Four Paradigms developed by Burrel and Morgan (1979) will be presented analyzed and discussed in this study. The analysis of these models suggests that the same ones are useful: for the evaluation of the epistemological characteristics of academic research; the provision of support to research policies; identification of the prevailing academic tradition in research programs, journals, congresses, and fields of knowledge.Downloads
