Public didactic book of Phisical Education: formative potential
Abstract
The Physical Education Textbook in the public education system of the State of Paraná (LDP-EF) is the first didactic content of Physical Education for basic systematic education adopted by the government. Directed by the criticalovercoming approach, a Marxist view of Physical Education, this course curriculum opposes emptying contents observed in the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN), which leads to reflection on the educational potential of the LDP-EF. The objective of this paper is to analyze, in the light of historical and
dialectical materialism, how and to what extent the systematized contents in the LDP-EF contribute to the training of students. Therefore, it seeks to summarize the historical process of consolidation of Physical Education and the role played by this course due to the restructuring of the production; were also analyzed official
documents that influenced the LDP–EF, as the Delors Report, the PCN and Physical Education Curriculum Guidelines. The results show that despite opposition of the PCN the LDP-EF holds resemblance to the criticized guidelines: emphasizes solidarity and formal cooperation and proposes activities that leaves out of consideration the systematized knowledge related to physical culture. At other times, however, lists the specific content of Physical Education social totality, opening up possibilities for understanding and transforming reality.
