SOLIDARITY ECONOMY AND EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN
THE CASE OF THE "ECUMENICAL HOUSE RECRUING LIFE"
Abstract
This article reflects a social mediating practice of empowering women protagonists of solidarity-based economic enterprises in the “Ecumenical House Recreating Life” located in a peripheral neighborhood of a city in the interior of the state of Santa Catarina. This is a qualitative, documentary research in which the Conversation Wheel is used as a method of collective participation and reflection. In the light of considerations by authors such as Sampaio, et al., Melo and Cruz, Moura and Lima, Simon and Boeira, Guareschi and Bert, the concepts of solidarity economy and empowerment were reflected with a group of fifteen women distributed in four economic enterprises. sympathetic. The research identified female empowerment as a process of self-awareness and individual and collective transformation through the experience of values, such as group belonging, strengthening interpersonal bonds, reciprocity, sharing difficulties and achievements, self-esteem and commitment of the participants in space where they 'recreate life'.
