CURRICULUM AND INTERDISCIPLINARITY
WHAT STUDENTS SAY ON A PROFESSIONAL MASTER'S DEGREE IN EDUCATION
Abstract
This article aims to discuss the concepts of Curriculum and Interdisciplinarity from what 97 master's students say in Education, enrolled in 2017, 2018 and 2019 in the subject “School, Curriculum and Diversity” of a University of Vale do Paraíba Paulista. Of a qualitative nature, it proposes a theoretical discussion, based on the content of the texts produced by the master's students in the classes and in moments that preceded it. Initially, this text presents a discussion about the concept of Interdisciplinarity, followed by a reflection on the concept of Curriculum, as powerful knowledge or knowledge of the powerful. The results were organized from three thematic units presented by the materials produced by the students: (i) on the concept of interdisciplinarity; (ii) on the comprehension of the polysemy of the concept of interdisciplinarity, based on three cultural logics; and (iii) the relationship between interdisciplinarity and curriculum in favor of powerful knowledge. About the concept of Interdisciplinarity, the students point to the interconnection between knowledge, its complexity, complementarity and an increasingly thin demarcation between the frontiers of knowledge. About the polysemy that involves the concept of Interdisciplinarity, the students aimed to understand the existence of three distinct logics - epistemological, instrumental and phenomenological - and the complementarity that exists between them. Finally, they showed that the relationship between Curriculum and Interdisciplinarity promotes a broadening of the look through their ambiguous and complex relationships, contributing to the realization of a powerful knowledge that emancipates and empowers.
