INTERDISCIPLINARITY IN THE TEACHING PRACTICES OF BASIC EDUCATION TEACHERS
Abstract
This article presents the results of an academic research that aimed to identify interdisciplinary experiences in the teaching practices of teachers from two municipal public schools in Zona da Mata Norte in the State of Pernambuco. Another objective was to register innovative perspectives regarding the methodologies adopted by Basic Education teachers in the municipality in question and apply, based on teachers' proposals, activities that encourage the experience of interdisciplinarity. This is a qualitative investigation, with emphasis on action research. For data collection, semi-structured questionnaires and participant observation were used. The data were analyzed using thematic-categorical content analysis. The results of this research suggest that in the schools where the research took place interdisciplinarity is experienced by integrating disciplines and carrying out educational projects, including a scientific perspective. We conclude that it is necessary that the municipality where the research was carried out continue to invest in the training of teachers toward investigation, rediscovery, and collective construction of knowledge, with interdisciplinarity as praxis.
