Abstract

This article aims to know the digital territories of students from the outskirts of a public school in Rio Grande do Sul, in order to use this virtual reality as a teaching-learning tool. For the delineation of this research, we used as a data collection instrument a semi-structured questionnaire: we initially sought to know the profile of our students, then investigated how and if they have access to the global internet network, and in what locations this connection occurs, as well as, what other technological tools they make use of. Next, we focus on understanding how students relate to digital tools, which sites they access most, what interests motivate them to access the network, and how that relationship interferes with their daily lives, and especially how they perceive, Influence on their educational/school issues. Finally, we list possibilities for working with the tools they mentioned in the classroom. We conclude that the pupils' digital practices permeate subjects of multiple territorialities and themes, with emphasis on the communication and interactivity aspects. In this sense, games, funk, and social networks are themes that are suitable to be worked in the classroom from the perspective of multiletramentos, and smartphones conform as digital tools of great potential to be used as a pedagogical tool.
