Sport performance in triatlhon from a competition trials’ analysis
Abstract
The aim of this study was to correlate swimming, cycling and running time with the full time of a triathlon trial, in different trials of the Brazilian Triathlon Trophy (TBT). The first 9 triathletes participants of four trials of the TBT in the 2004 season were analyzed. The data were analyzed by Anova and Pearson’s correlation coefficient, the level of significance was set as p ≤ 0,05. Different results for the TBT´s four trials have been found, since for the tasks 1 and 4 running was the modality that had higher influence in the full time (r = 0,81; r = 0,84, respectively), different of trial 2 (r = 0,17) and trial 3 (r = 0,56). These results suggest that the TBT trials must be analyzed individually. The trial may influence training for attainment of the best performance, taking account as basis, each trial specific pattern throughout the yearDownloads
