Abstract

Learning is an important reflection of education concerning gender issues. To discuss sexist labels and problems of sex-gender, in Latin America, is one of the goals of this article. Another issue that needs attention is the discussion of feminism in Latin America. Feminism appears to be imported from Europe and the United States in relatively recent times, so one must ask about the existing cultural mix in Latin America, which is very different from other countries. This article is composed of discussions of literature survey about feminism. The understanding is that one should highlight the impact that the category of gender has had in Latin America, focusing on the differences. The phenomenon occurs because of the establishment of comprehension of traditional dichotomies such as sex/gender, male/female, white/black, dominating/dominated.
