Abstract

Jean Piaget and his colleagues revolutionized through their studies, their time, all that was known about the child, particularly in the development of intelligence and knowledge construction. His works also revolutionized epistemology and psychology of his time and even today, thirty years after his death, it is difficult to deny the role and importance of this fruitful work that remains to various areas of knowledge, despite the theoretical and methodological distortions that work has suffered and is suffering from its spread in our country. The significance given to the term fertility, subsidized on differentiating between studies that result in excess of one theory and others that highlight the need for amendments to improve it. The aim was to point out that the Genetic Epistemology and Psychology has the potential to serve as a theoretical and methodological research, either empirical or theoretical, with no disrespect with this, its limitations. From this perspective, we sought to emphasize that any theory can be exposed to criticism, but this requires, first and indispensably, to avoid losses, deep understanding of it in its entirety.
