EDUCATIONAL POLICY AND SCHOOL CULTURE: CONSEQUENCES IN THE BUILDING UP OF THE TEACHERS 5th TO 8th CLASSES

Abstract

This text treat the formation of teachers from 5 th to 8 th classes, a process mediated by the culture of the school and the implementation of educational policies, based on research done in a centenary public school located in the city of São Paulo. The qualitative research consisted of extensive survey of documentation in school and the Archive of the State of São Paulo, interviews, in addition to carrying out visits to observe the work of teachers and the relations established in school. The categories school culture and work helped explain, in historical perspective, the establishment of the desisting (renouncing) teachers. The analysis has showed the deepening of a contradiction between the possibilities put in the work and the objective conditions of work, emphasizing to the emptying of the school as a place of training of new generations, for knowledge. Initially we present the culture of the school through a practice observed in school because it summarizes the historical building of the school and the current cycle II from the old secondary and its popularization. The research focused in this path, aspects of work and teaching profession. At the end we present the consequences for the teacher.
