A Idéia de Europa no Período Fascista análise de um livro de história da pedagogia

Abstract

The proposition of the article is to make evident the image of Europe present in the Michele Frederico Sciacca manual, “The education problem in the philosophical and pedagogical thought history”. After presenting the methodological criteria that managed the analysis, the text points out: the lack of historical contexture; the superficial understanding of the education and pedagogical concepts; the Christian civilization apology; the Vico historicism exaltation and the “Italian spiritualism” in contrast with an anti-historicist conception of enlightenment and the positivism, generally in contraposition with a favorable evaluation from the Italian philosophical positivism. Summarizing, in the perspective of an analyzed book, the Europe conception can’t suggest otherwise the image of danger and competitiveness. The book detains itself in a provincial conscience of a poor nationalism that considers Italy the most civilized nation in Europe.
