Chamamento às Margens: Propostas Decoloniais na Produção Acadêmica Sobre Consumo, Mercado e Marketing

Abstract

The Decolonial Forum emerged from the concern with overcoming a toxic hierarchy of knowledge imposed on researchers and practitioners from peripheral geographies and the need to create spaces where peripheral, non-hegemonic and non-Eurocentric knowledge and interests can be recognized as valid. Although this concern is shared by several researchers in the field, we were aware of the difficulty of engagement that academic structures impose. As a result, we seek to create a call to the Brazilian community, in a Brazilian journal. RIMAR's acceptance of hosting our Forum was fundamental because we understand that the magazine is at the forefront of knowledge production by hosting analyzes that reveal the normalization of systemic issues associated with the colonialities of power, knowledge and being (Quijano, 2007) and which also offer alternatives to the traditional models of thinking about Management and Marketing within the Academy.
