Princípios do Cooperativismo de Plataforma na Construção de Arranjos de Mercado

Abstract

The sharing economy, especially digital platforms, has gained relevance in marketing and consumption academic debate due to its impact on transforming market arrangements. However, in the wake of this process, there are negative consequences derived from the imbalances caused by the concentration of power among the platform owners. In the attempt to shape market arrangements capable of ensuring the distribution of value generated in a shared way and mitigating its imbalances, recent efforts have recovered the cooperative business philosophy to design fairer models of digital platforms. In this theoretical essay, we aim to debate and map the construction of new market arrangements in a shared and cooperative economy. For this, we recognize platform cooperativism as an alternative market arrangement confronting those controlled by large corporations. Finally, we combine the principles of cooperative and distributed governance to propose a typology for different configurations of platform cooperativism market arrangements.
