Abstract

This work aimed to study the genotype and environment effect on grain yield and protein levels of three soybean cultivars in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Grain yield and protein levels of soybean were evaluated during 2002/03 and 2004/05 cropping seasons. Grain yield in 2002/03 was satisfactory considering favorable climatic conditions. However, in 2004/05, grain yield of BRS 133 cultivar was low due to dry conditions during grain wadding. BRS 206 cultivar, on both cropping seasons, showed the highest levels of protein, which suggests that cultivar effect was more important for protein levels.

Possui graduação em Engenharia Agronômica e doutorado em Fitotecnia (Ciência e Tecnologia de Sementes) pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas (2002). Atualmente é Pesquisador "A" da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária. Tem experiência na área de Agronomia, com ênfase em Sistemas de Produção, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: soja, cultivares, melhoramento genético vegetal, produção e tecnologia de sementes e grãos.
