Abstract

Power relationship in Imperial Rome with special emphasis on the understanding of the patronage system over the first century A.D. is here discussed. The parameters of Roman political institutions available in contemporary historiography allowed to clarify the close connection between friendship and politics within the patronage system.

Renata Lopes Biazotto Venturini, UEM

Possui graduação em História pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1986), mestrado em História pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1993) e doutorado em História Social pela Universidade de São Paulo (2000). Atualmente é professor não-titular da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Tem experiência na área de História, com ênfase em História Antiga, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: principado romano, instituições políticas, patronato, poder imperial , epístolas De Caio Plínio Cecíllio Segundo, mais conhecido como Plínio, o Jovem Currículo Lattes
