A child living with HIV/AIDS presents chronic characteristics in addition to stigma and prejudice. This article aims at understanding the experiences of the child with HIV/AIDS from a qualitative research using the Creative and Sensitive Method. It was carried out in Porto Alegre/RS from July 2010 to June 2011 with 60 school-aged children and it received the approval of the Research Ethics Committee. The information was collected by means of creativity and sensitiveness dynamics and it was submitted to thematic analysis from which the following themes have derived: Prejudice, The ways of being a child with HIV/AIDS and Perspectives of future. It is necessary that a multidisciplinary team follows up this population in order to provide a more qualified care so as to minimize prejudice attitudes that affect the treatment directly; to value the play, the beliefs and the wishes of the children, as the ways of being that influence their growth and full development.Downloads
