Abstract

The text discusses perspectives of teaching in basic education public schools, considering the educational policies and their effects on contemporary educational agenda. Therefore, a documental research with a set of laws, collated by a literature review, is developed. The results of a research focused on the discussion of quality in public school are considered, presenting, as one of the possibilities of this quality, material conditions of teaching (especially in relation to careers and institutional guards to perform the work activity). To mark the text production, some laws that interfere with teaching materiality were exposed. Such laws, consolidated by Normative no 14/2010, Law no 11.738/08, the resolution of National Council of Education no 2/2009, and Constitutional Amendment no 59/2009, embody a tendency to debate the issue, encouraging construction of a minimum agenda about it. In conclusion, this legislation, while interfering in teaching conditions, expresses trends of debate, agendas, perspectives and educational policies about the subject, inferring aspects so far undersized in dealing with specific and relevant issues to teaching in basic education public school.
