Abstract

The concern with continued formation of indigenous teachers in higher education has been constant since the UNEMAT offer four courses of Intercultural Graduation. This paper aims to present the data collected and processed on the actuation of indigenous teachers graduated from the Intercultural Graduation of UNEMAT. The data were obtained through participant observation, using visits to communities, formal and informal interviews, field notes in diaries, audio and photographic record. The results identified as positive, pointed out by teachers, parents and students, were maintenance and preservation of history and culture of ethnic groups. They also pointed difficulties to be overcome as the lack of availability of teaching materials. Were raised demands of desired training post-graduate studies in which master's level was highlighted.
