Abstract

Current paper partially returns to the research, concluded in 2012, about the association practices of the
indigenous people xakriabá. The analysis were focused on the subjects participation in the preparation,
setting up and management of social projects. Meetings (as local spaces for the performance of activities) are
analyzed with regard to power relationships, external mediations to communities in their contact with contact
with the agents involved. The subjects´ participation way is delineated and experienced from concepts
produced in their relationships with the local power, although these concepts are part of the movement
triggered by associativism and social projects.
