The present work has will be objective you analyze the history of the first educational initiatives in "the pioneering" region of brazilian occupation of the region west of the state of the Paraná, that culminated in the creation of the first institution of public education: the School Group Bartolomeu Mitre. The data will be analyzed taking as proposal theoretician-metodológico the dialectical-historical materialism. The historical period is delimited enters 1889 - beginning of the First Republic and creation of the Military Colony of Estuary of the Iguassú - and 1930 - and of the Second Republic, landmark of diverse world-wide and national events e, in the scope of the education, height of the influences of the New School in Brazil and of the quarrels on the construction of the national system of education.
