TEACHER EDUCATION AND NEW COMPETENCES FACED WITH THE INTERACTIVE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract
Nowadays the teaching practice supported by digital technology poses a serious challenge to teachers. The pedagogical practice that encompasses the digital resources demands competences that are different from the traditional ones once a new learning culture arises as a result of the ICT integration in the learning and teaching process. The literature review indicates the necessity to reorientate the teacher´s role and work when faced with the digital culture. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to present a contribution to modify the practices supported by instrumentalist and deterministic concepts showing a definition to the interactive digital technology term as well as pointing out the teaching competences required for the critical and responsive incorporation of the interactive digital technology in education.
