OBEDIENCE AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SCHOOL AND FAMILY
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to discuss about obedience and the relations between school and family. The text presents two studies about the concept of obedience in parents of young children and parents of adolescents. The data revealed that parents do not want submissive children that learn unquestionable obedience, but in the other hand, their interventions are empirical, trying several ways of achieving children’s obedience. However, those parents revealed their need for more reflection regarding the relationship between parent and child, in order to understand their concepts. The interpretation of this data reveals that families need help from schools, especially guaranteeing the access of to knowledge regarding the phases of their child’s moral development and achieve their fundamental function as cooperators in the possible moral evolution of their children. So, the final considerations brings areflection about the needs and transformations experienced by these two institutions. The authors indicate the possible construction a real partnership between school and family based in mutual cooperation.Downloads
