Abstract

In this article, we interpret Thales Castanho de Andrade from the perspective of the constitution of infantile literature field from the late 1910’s throughout the 1920’s and the confrontation with Monteiro Lobato - his inevitable interlocutor. We have taken as grounds for this narrative and link among its parts, Thales de Andrade’s conception of literature as it was exposed in his course on the theme taught in the beginning of the 1960’s. The result was that, on explaining the correlative elements, we developed the specification of their trajectories.
