The influence of the VIS or UV irradiation was evaluated on the phenol photocatalytic degradation in different experimental conditions. Tests with TiO2 as photocatalyst were carried out during 5h, in which parameters as irradiation, aeration, mass of TiO2 and initial concentration of phenol were changed. The textural analysis and XRD results showed that the TiO2 is a mesoporous material and it is constituted of a rutile and anatase phase mixture. The photodegradation tests showed that the sensitized photocatalysis was much slower than the direct photocatalysis, that it was much easier to degrade diluted solutions and that the oxygen presence had no influence on the process efficiencyDownloads
