Abstract

Based on a postmodern perspective, this text presents education from the point of view of Giroux’s critical pedagogy. It aims at demonstrating the possibility of a critical view of education and the teaching/learning of literatures, navigating through notions of power and knowledge as discursive constructions in constant movement.

Author Biography

Clarissa Menezes Jordão, UFPR

Atualmente é professora de Língua Inglesa e LingÃ¼ística Aplicada na Universidade Federal do Paraná, pesquisadora colaboradora no Centro de Estudos sobre Justiça Social e Global, da Universidade de Nottingham, Inglaterra, e está realizando sua pesquisa de pós-doutoramento na Universidade de Manitoba, em Winnipeg, Canadá. Tem experiência na área de formação de professores de Línguas Estrangeiras Modernas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: ensino de línguas e literaturas estrangeiras, letramento crítico, formação de professores de línguas estrangeiras, pós-estruturalismo e pós-colonialismo, enfocando especialmente noções de discurso e representação.
