Abstract

Being in touch with a theoretical framework of literary translation based on a cultural perspective, the present essay aims at investigating literary translation as a ‘partner’ of cultural studies and postcolonial literature, giving a special focus on the cultural identity assumption and to what extent it has been fulfilled and studied within the field of literary translation built as scientific knowledge through the years.

Author Biography

Leoné Astride Barzotto, Cesumar
Possui graduação em Letras Português / Inglês e respectivas Literaturas pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (2002) e mestrado em Estudos Literários / Diálogos Culturais pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2005) com condução direta ao Doutorado em Letras (em andamento) pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina, também como Doutorado-Sanduíche (CAPES) pela Indiana University Bloomington (USA). Atualmente é professora efetiva em regime T24 do Centro Universitário de Maringá e Coordena o Curso de Letras da mesma instituição. É editora chefe da Revista de Ciências Humanas e Sociais Aplicadas do Centro Universitário de Maringá. Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em Literaturas Estrangeiras Modernas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: literatura; história; sociedade; memória; terceiro mundo; papel da mulher; pós-colonialismo; hibridismo; diálogos culturais; tradução literária; identidate; ensino e apredizagem de língua inglesa.
