Access to entertainment literature in the face of reading É assim que acaba, by Colleen Hoover

This article seeks to highlight how the so-called ‘entertainment literature’ has been received by school-age readers, especially regarding the teenager public of , considering the study of the novel É Assim que acaba, by American writer Collen Hoover (1979 -)as a reference (2021). Through bibliographical survey, a list of cultural, historical and economic aspects is made, all involved in understanding everyday themes inherent to the marketing discourse of the aforementioned contemporary literary work, an exponent of best-sellers bequeathed to young people.. To this end, it is pointed out how mediation by TikTok between readings of the canon and of works with strong popular appeal can contribute to the significant understanding of the literary text in the classroom, reinforcing principles and values based on the idea that the reader takes ownership of what was read, appropriates and takes a stance before the playful practice of verbal creation staged by discourse.
