<b>Brazilian homoerotic literature and the writing on the self<b>
Abstract
Representations of same-sex affection in literature and its impacts are discussed. The above is especially important through the reading of literature analyzed from the authors´ strategy of first-person narratives and what writing on the self means for readers. Due to the importance of homoerotic literature and the number of texts drawing upon gay subculture, the issue is highly crucial not merely to understand the elimination of discrimination but also to perceive who writes and their motives in telling homoerotic stories. The characteristics of this type of literature, which is transforming the scenarios of contemporary Brazilian literature, are investigated.
