Cinema in the classroom: a pedagogical tool in the service of the teacher
Abstract
This article describes a project implemented in a room with 40 students, with an average age of 14, the 9th year of a elementary state school in Curitiba, aiming to reflect on everyday themes through clippings of films, followed by an analysis of its contents. Selected films treated about: teenage pregnancy, current condition of education, teacher/student relationship, among other aspects. The results were positive: 37 participants mentioned positive changes after participation in the project, including: eleven reported to have developed greater sensitivity to the other; thirteen said they had changed their way of looking at life; nine reported changes in behavior and the others in their interpersonal relationships and self-esteem. Based on the results achieved, it is possible to consider that the cinema in school, as a pedagogical resource, contributes to the reflection on issues related to daily life of young people.
