REFLECTIONS ABOUT A PEDAGOGICAL EXPERIENCE CARRIED OUT IN THE LIBRARY OF A PUBLIC SCHOOL IN RIO DE JANEIRO
Abstract
The present work presents results of research at doctoral level whose theme was the use of the school library in a school located in vulnerable territory in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Our objective was to analyze the potentialities and pedagogical mediations of activities articulating the broader context, from the school to the activities in the classroom aiming at an education and critical formation. It was a qualitative study based on the participant research; besides the observation, for the considerations presented in this article we present the data collected in the Focus Group. Taking the experience and discussions of the Focus Group, it was indicated by the subjects (teachers and managers) that the existence and use of the library in the basic education is important, as they considered that the school should invest and look for strategies to incorporate literature and use of the library to articulate the curricular contents of some disciplines and to definitively establish a mediator in space to assist students and teachers.
