AS FIGHTS AS CONTENT OF SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION

A LOOK FROM THE SENSES AND APPROPRIATIONS OF STUDENTS

Abstract

This text is the result of an action research that aimed to answer the following question: How is it possible to develop the content of fights taking into account the reality of disputes and conflicts between students at a municipal school in the city of Porto Alegre/RS? To carry out the study, we developed a teaching unit of fighting games with third, fourth and fifth-years students. From what was constructed and experienced in practice, we understand that the students appropriated the attitudinal values worked on in class and sought to follow the rules that promoted physical integrity, respect for colleagues and equal conditions. Furthermore, it was possible to notice a greater participation of students with disabilities, as well as girls and boys who used to participate peripherally in Physical Education classes. Finally, we understood that the content of fights made sense, as it spoke to the students' needs and desires for movement, disputes and experiences of pleasant tension/excitement within the school.
