Physical education in elementary school
Abstract
This study aimed at verifying the most evidenced objectives in Physical Education in elementary school, the teacher’s professional qualification, and the opinion of the teachers on the action of the Physical Education professional in these grades. The research was based on the opinion descriptive method. The sample comprised 27 teachers who teach Physical Education for elementary students at municipal, state and private schools in Santa Maria city – state of Rio Grande Sul. Interviews and a quantitative analysis of both the frequency and the percentage of the answers were used as data collecting. We can observe the following results: the most evidenced objectives are the development of the motor skills in the preschool and first grades, sport in the second and third grades and fun in the fourth grades. 93,75% of the teachers interviewed find the action of the professional graduated in Physical Education important for the elementary school.Downloads
