Ethical Oversight

Our journal strictly adheres to the Core Practices proposed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which include guidelines and best practices to maintain transparency, integrity, and ethics throughout all stages of the editorial process. Below, we outline the key aspects of our editorial policy and how we ensure ethical compliance:

  1. Editorial Integrity and Transparency
    • Objectivity and Impartiality: Publication decisions are based solely on the quality, originality, and scientific relevance of manuscripts, without discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political affiliation of the authors.
    • Conflict of Interest: Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any conflicts of interest. Transparency is crucial to ensure impartiality in the peer review process.
    • Peer Review Process: We employ a double-blind peer review system, where the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential to ensure fair and unbiased evaluation.
  2. Content Reliability
    • Plagiarism and Originality: All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using specialized software. Plagiarized works are immediately rejected.
    • Corrections and Retractions: If significant errors or scientific misconduct are identified after publication, the journal will publish corrections or retractions as necessary, following COPE guidelines.
  3. Authors' Conduct
    • Authorship Responsibility and Contribution: Authors must ensure their contributions are original, and all listed co-authors have significantly contributed to the work. The order of authorship should accurately reflect each individual's contribution.
    • Ethical Consent and Approvals: Research involving humans or animals must adhere to international ethical standards, such as the Declaration of Helsinki. Authors must provide ethical approvals from relevant committees and informed consents when applicable.
  4. Reviewers' Responsibilities
    •
    • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat received manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share information with third parties.
    • Objectivity and Timeliness: Reviews should be conducted objectively, constructively, and within the stipulated timeframe to ensure the efficiency of the editorial process.
  5. Ethics Oversight and Enforcement
    • Training and Guidance: Editors and editorial board members receive ongoing training on ethical issues and editorial practices recommended by COPE.
    • Misconduct Investigations: The journal follows rigorous procedures to investigate allegations of misconduct, including data falsification, plagiarism, and other unethical practices, in accordance with COPE guidelines.
  6. Communication and Transparency with Readers and Authors
    • Open Access Policy: We promote open access to scientific knowledge, allowing our articles to be freely accessed by anyone interested.
    • Feedback and Complaints: We maintain open channels for feedback and complaints from authors, reviewers, and readers, committing to respond promptly and fairly to all raised issues.

The editorial policy of the Journal of Physical Education is grounded in promoting integrity, transparency, and ethics in scientific publishing. By adhering to COPE-recommended practices, we strive to maintain the trust of our academic community and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in an ethical and responsible manner.
