One-Thousand-Meters race reliability short racecourse
Abstract
The aim of the present study was to verify the reliabbility of one-thousand-meters race-test, standardized by KLISSOURAS (1973), for short racecourse. The randomized sample comprised 240 students, males and females, between age 9 to 12, enrolled in the municipal school system, in the urban area of Pelotas, state of Rio Grande do Sul. The body weight was measured by a lever balance and the size a stadiometer. The one-thousand-meters race teste, standardized by KLISSOURAS (1973), was used to measure aerobic potentiality. The results showed a significative positive correlation between one-thousand-meters race test on conventional racecourse and that a short oval-shaped unconventional racecourse. It may be concluded that when there is no conventional racecourse available the one-thousand-meters race test on a short unconventional racecourse is reliable.Downloads
