New proposed curriculum of the course of physical education at the State University of Maringa

Abstract

This theoretical essay has as objective to present the new educational proposal from Physical Education graduation course at Maringá State University expressed in its pedagogic project of course. In its elaboration were employed the critical curricular theory and the participative method in which it was searched to formalize and institutionalize the maniféstation and considerations already expressed by all segments related to the course throughout its history. The pedagogical project comprises: evaluation of curriculum in use, mainly through studies carried out by Martins Júnior (1986), Oliveira (1988), Oliveira et alii (1988); considerations about the conception on the knowIedge field to which the course is referred; discussion about the profile of the professional that the course intends to form; enlightment of pedagogical, social, political and philosophycal principles which direct the project; explanation of the course\'s objectives and its new curricular proposal. This proposal was organized around five curricular axis (the human being, human movement, corporal culture, pedagogical education, knowledge production in Physical Education) that create opportunities for discussion and action so as to make transparent the relation between practice and theory, form and contents, knowledge and production within a h historical view.

Juarez Vieira do Nascimento, UFSC
Licenciatura em Educação Física pela Faculdade Salesiana de Educação Física (1982), mestrado em Ciência do Movimento Humano pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1988) e doutorado em Ciências do Esporte pela Universidade do Porto (1998). Atualmente é professor associado da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Subcoordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Física da UFSC, Membro da Comissão de Avaliadores da Área 21 da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior(CAPES) e Membro da Comissão de Especialistas em Educação Física do Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais (INEP/MEC). Tem experiência na área de Educação Física, com ênfase em Formação Profissional e Pedagogia do Esporte, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: educação física, formação inicial, voleibol, desenvolvimento profissional e currículos e programas.
