Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the contributions of sports initiation on the motor development of children 06 to 09 years old in the region of Maringá - PR. Participated on the study children from indoor soccer training (n = 40 beginners, n = 40 > 06 months of training). The Rosa Neto (2002) scale of motor development was used as the measuring instrument. For analysis of the results, one used the Mann-Whitney test and ANOVA (p <0.05). For the boys over 06 months of training, the Global Motor Age were higher than Chronological Age, with statistically significant differences for the group of 07 years (GMA = 92.34 ± 4.03, CI = 84.53 ± 2.23, * p = 0.022) and 09 years (GMA = 120.00 ± 5.00, CI = 108.12 ± 1.78, ** p=0.001). The boys of 07 and 09 years practicing for over 06 months showed high normal motor development classification (7 years MGQ: 93.63 ± 11.03 (beginners); 110.03 ± 4.80 (practitioners) * p = 0.041. MGQ 9 years: 100.3 ± 4.14 (beginners), 111.13 ± 4.60 (practitioners) * p = 0.049). It was concluded that sports training can provide positive contributions to the motor components of children, creating benefits for the motor development.Downloads
