STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT’S LEARNING PROCESS CONSIDERATIONS

Abstract
This dissertation focused the education of the future administrators, their skills and appropriate use of knowledge acquired in the course, Strategic Management course, aimed at increasing consistency of theory and practice. Topics that leaded to the present study were based on the guidelines of discipline and the assumptions of the constructivist approach of teaching and learning. The objectives were raising the main indicators regarding the importance of the discipline’s content in a real company, survey indicators of what students think about the applicability of strategic management in companies which they operate and make inferences about processes of learning. A total of ten individuals, aged between 20 and 50 years, eight of them attending the 8th period and both the 7th period of Business Administration in a private college of the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo. A semistructured roadmap interview, developed for this purpose, was used as an auxiliary instrument. Collected data was processed by the procedures of content analysis technique. The results presented a positive identification with the content learned in the classroom and its application in business. However, the relationship between learning and application is non-systematic, and most of the concepts applied in a specific time-frame manner, according to the needs of each organization in that given period. Regarding the relation of discipline’s teaching and learning, students suggested more dynamic classes with presentations of study cases as an additional learning resource.
