Abstract

Art within the learning and teaching processes of Brazilian Amerindian schooling has an important role due to its enhancement of articulation between daily traditional knowledge and universal knowledge. Foregrounded on the historical and cultural theory, current essay deals with schooling education and the relevant role that it has in the formation of the subject. This is due to the fact that it involves intentional and systematized activities that are an asset for the elaboration/ re-elaboration of various types of knowledge coupling transmission, incorporation, broadening cultural, technical and scientific information. When Art, a factor present in all human cultures and in school curricula, is adequately taught, it contributes towards the high development of higher psychic functions and favors all subjects – children, young people and adults, giving them the highest possibilities in comprehension and action on their experienced.
