This research aims to understand what do students with disabilities think in relation to access college education. The investigation is included in the research done for the master's dissertation entitled Students with disabilities in technical course: what they say about their school and family trajectories, for the Master's Program in Education in Univille-Joinville / SC. The approach adopted was qualitative, the data collection used was semistructured interviews, and the analysis was done according to the content analysis. The locus of the research was SENAI SC Joinville and the interviewees were done with five students with disabilities. The criteria for selection of participants was: be graduated in high school, have disabilities, and be enrolled in a technical course. The interviews allowed the reseracher to listen to the voice of the students and their perception on access college education, understanding that for these students there are many variables that affect this decision. The analysis indicated that students with disabilities have some lines approaching the aspects that encompass family and career in basic education and others that are different when they speak of prospective about entering in college. However, the aspect that leaves students in the most vulnerable situation is related to education, making them insecure in relation to access this level of education. Another factor noticed is the importance of work in their lives, and this is very evident in their speech especially when reporting why do they choose professional education. The analysis also showed that there is an ideology installed around college education and sometimes it can distance people of this possibility.Downloads
