<b>THE EVALUATION OF SPECIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF INDIGENOUS CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES IN THE INDIGENOUS LAND OF DOURADOS-MS, BRAZIL
Abstract
Evaluation is one of the essential components for the Specialized Educational Service (SES) and for the process of inclusion of children in indigenous schools. The text addresses a few directions for the evaluation of specific and educational needs of indigenous students with disabilities. This proposal was developed in joint work by two indigenous teachers and two non-indigenous ones, who work for SES in the municipality of Dourados-MS. Such study was developed by means of a collaborative research, based on theoretical-methodological contributions of social anthropology, with an emphasis on Cultural Studies. Results evidenced shortage of researches on the interface between Special Education and Indigenous Scholar Education; technical guidelines are generic and indicate the diagnostic evaluation in SES, which proves to be insufficient. The team of teachers, after thoughts over such theme, points out the possibility of a pedagogical evaluation both systematic and educational in order for indigenous children with disabilities to have their right to schooling ensured.
