Abstract

The approach to some aspects of the school culture developed by Deutsche Schule in Curitiba at the turn of the XIX century, made possible the identification of particularities inherent to that educational institution. By using the intuitive or “object lessons” method for the knowledge production and organization, the school used to dispose several implements and objects in order to stimulate students’ observation; implements and objects which are here focused as elements of that material school culture, aiming to debate their usages and meanings.
