Santa Catarina in IV National Conference of Education: for a New School

Abstract

The movement for the New School in Brazil arrived at the furthermost spaces of the country as expression of a necessary pedagogical reformularization to the overcoming of supposed a practical traditional pertaining to school. Based on that, the Santa Catarina’s Department of Education undertook a reform in the way of teaching in order to be adjusted to the national speech. It undertook a pedagogic modification in the primary schools, as well as in the course of teaching formation. These courses should prepare the teacher in accordance with the new proposals of the “New School”. Expressing much more a pedagogical reformularization, the state of Santa Catarina, therefore, aimed to adjust itself to the national latent modernity.
