<b>El Concepto de “Emancipación Espiritual” en el Debate sobre la Educación en Hispanoamérica en la Primera Mitad del Siglo XIX</b>

Abstract

Starting from the affirmation that in the first half of the 19th century, the struggle for the political stability and for the creation of a new national identity impregnated the liberal Hispano-American thought of a unanimous concern of education dissemination and of combat to the Spanish colonial inheritance through the state school, the article focus on some relevant authors to the political-educational thought in Hispano-America, specifically in Mexico, Chile and Argentina, exploring three aspects: the catholic church influence over the moral and social values, the weight of the military element in the new independent societies and the teaching contents.
