<b>La educación física argentina en los manuales y textos escolares (1880-1930). Sobre los ejercicios físicos o acerca de cómo configurar cuerpos útiles, productivos, obedientes, dóciles, sanos y racionales</b>
Abstract
This article has as central objective, to analyze the texts or manuals of physical education of the primary level, from 1884 up to 1930. The selection of this period responds to the necessity of inquire about the practices, the knowledge and the discourses that were installing and prescribing certain corporal order in the fundacional time of the physical education. The investigation will center in the structure of manuals or texts, individualizing the following axes: the different terms used to denominate the discipline, the contents to teach and their justifications, the place that occupies the teacher, the place that occupies the pupil, the temporary and space considerations of the activities to develop, the mentioned materials, the necessary clothes, the distinction male-woman, the parts of the body mentioned in the exercises, the iconography type, among others. This analysis will allow us to identify the form in that the body -so much masculine as feminine – it is thought in one of the obligatory subjects of the Argentinean primary level. The sources to use will be the books or manuals of the time, directed to the teachers of the discipline in question.
